KNOWMADS: Los trabajadores del futuro - Author: Raquel Roca

Book review by Isabel García (IMA Spain member)

I came across with this book more than a year ago. For a non-read as I am (meaning: I do not have "reading books" among my hobbies, but I do read in other sort of platforms), the reading of this book has been really inspiring, and has become a guide that I can re-read again and again. Assistants are so much in touch with the new trends in communication technologies, tools that improve efficiency on task management, web sites to find the best aircrafts for a long-haul flight... etc, and all those improvement are meant to ease the C-suite work, so they can devote longer time to R&D, innovation, etc.

Assistants are in fact the real knowmads...

... in companies, having to struggle with a wide range of topics, while facing the new technology trends. A fact that will turn the Assistant role into a long-lasting job. And that is why I highly recommend all Assistants to read this book, thoroughly, and find answers to all the transformation we are now facing, not only at work but also in our own lives. This book, written in a very close language, easy to understand, unveils how the author has gone through this transformation and has integrated it in her own life: new roles, new capabilities, networking vs pyramids, soft skills... I hope you enjoy it!
